Notice

I’d like to notice you on graduation in 2020-2nd and 2021-1st semester as below.

[1] Graduate to be in 2020-2nd semester (MS + Ph.D + MS-Ph.D all)
1) Nomination of thesis committee members : 11.20.(Fri)
-> Put info of committee members at “Portal – Graduation – Thesis/Dissertation info – Graduate Thesis”

2) Submission of nomination of thesis committee : ~11.24.(Tue) 18:00
-> Print out the paper with info of committee and hand it in to the office
*Staff: Kim, Minsun at the Academic&Students Affairs Team for College of Engineering (052-217-1807 / minsun4567@unist.ac.kr / Bldg.108, Rm.U203)

3) Defense : ~12.18.(Fri)
-> 2 weeks before the last day of the semester ~ the last day (12.18.)
-> I’ll help you out with the setting if you let me know the time and place of defense.

* Things to prepare
– English version of thesis
– Thesis evaluation form (Attached 1 below)
– Approval of thesis (Attached 2 below)

-> ONLY MS : Oral test evaluation form (Attached 1 below) : There’s no specific format of test but testing quality of English presentation

4) Submission of Approval of thesis (Attached 2 below) : ~12.25.(Fri)
-> Usually, you should bring the form for defense and get signatures from committee members

5) Submission of Thesis
– Online submission : 2021.01.11.(Mon) ~ 01.13.(Wed)
– Hardcover submission: 2021.01.14.(Thu) ~ 01.15.(Fri)

6) Application for course completion : ~11.22.(Tue) 18:00
– Qualification: Applicable if you can’t hand in thesis or official English test score within program duration period
* Program duration period : MS 6th, Ph.D 12th, MS-Ph.D 14th
* With permission of Graduate committee, you can apply for 1 year extension just once
-> Inquiry regarding extension of program duration period: Kim, Minsun
– Submission of the form attached 3 below to the staff
* Staff: Kim, Minsun at the Academic&Students Affairs Team for College of Engineering (052-217-1807 / minsun4567@unist.ac.kr / Bldg.108, Rm.U203)
– Note: Not like undergraduate’s course completion, in case of graduate, completion means completion for good. It’s not about graduation or getting diploma.
You can’t get the diploma when you are to apply for course completion.

* Detailed schedule will be noticed to individual graduate to be after the nomination of committee.

[2] Graduate to be in 2021-1st semester (ONLY Ph.D + MS-Ph.D)

1) According to the regulation, “Pre-defense and Defense can’t be done at the same semester”, graduate to be in 2020-2nd semester should proceed pre-defense in 2020-2nd semester.
(or they should have done it before 2020-2nd semester(including))

2) Pre-defense : ~12.18.(Fri)
-> 2 weeks before the last day of the semester ~ the last day (12.18.)
-> I’ll help you out with the setting if you let me know the time and place of defense.
