  • Environmental Science and Engineering (ESE)

The Environmental Science and Engineering (ESE) aims to educate and develop advanced environmental technologies for safe and clean environment. ESE is an inter-disciplinary program that covers the environmental issues on global and regional scales including climate change and water treatment. Research areas include comprehensive monitoring of environmental pollution, environmental remote sensing with artificial intelligence, forecasting of weather and climate change, capturing of greenhouse gases, desalination, water treatment using membrane, chemical, and biological processes, recovery of energy and resources from waste, and environment justice and ethics.

  • Disaster Management Engineering (DME)

The Disaster Management Engineering (DME) aims to prevent and mitigate disaster damages and risks by applying cutting-edge scientific technologies and methodologies. DME is an interdisciplinary program that covers all areas of the Urban and Environmental Engineering. DME provides various education and research programs in an integrated manner for the natural and social disasters (i. e., reduction of social and economic adverse impacts on ecosystem, environmental condition, and urban infrastructure, and for provision of efficient and sustainable disaster recovery). Research areas include, but are not limited to, prediction and analysis for expected or unexpected disaster, assessment of risk and vulnerability, and policy relevant management schemes.
